We take a field trip to the Beaver Steel Services manufacturing facility

2021 August 30

Our friends at Beaver Steel Services recently invited us to take a tour of their manufacturing facility not far from us in Carnegie, PA. Now that our office life is approaching normal levels of getting together, travel and in-person meetings, we felt pretty excited to go.

“What else can we make for you guys?” was essentially the question that Beaver Steel president Tony Treser wanted us to answer during the visit. For a number of years now, they’ve been custom-building enclosures for us to sell in our online marketplace, based on the needs and interests of our customers. In fact, the entire team at Beaver Steel has always been true partners with, taking our input and suggestions for new products and enhancements to existing ones. That partnership has led to successfully and steadily growing our business on both sides.

One excellent example is our line of ALP Series NEMA 1 enclosures. Beaver Steel created these exclusively for us in multiple sizes and colors, with keys that fit Kele® RET enclosures — and the price we offer on these in our online marketplace has to be seen to be believed (make sure you’re logged into your account to see your pricing!).

Here are a few highlights of our July field trip:

Overall, it was an eye-opening visit. Ernie Larson, our Customer Service Supervisor, was particularly impressed:

Just the size of the rolls of steel and the huge buildings that they use! We learned a lot about the details and meticulous care they put into creating our enclosures., watching an enclosure bent and formed out of raw steel, and watching a laser machine etch knockouts into an enclosure. They are a great company with brilliant, local talent who make not only enclosures but can form almost anything out of raw steel.

Special thanks to Tony and everyone at Beaver Steel Services for our terrific visit!
