Alps Controls Founder Dave Meyers Announces Retirement; Connor Meyers Named CEO, Addison Meyers Named COO
Alps Controls, the leading online marketplace for HVAC and building automation control parts and peripherals, today announced that founder and owner David Meyers will retire effective July 28, 2026. Effective July 29, 2026, Connor Meyers will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Addison Meyers will serve as Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Dave Meyers founded Alps Controls in 1993, originally as a buying group for the building automation and controls industry — created by a controls contractor to help fellow contractors secure better pricing on the products they needed. The company evolved quickly, launching alpscontrols.com and becoming one of the earliest companies to bring the purchase of HVAC and building automation control parts fully online — at a time when Amazon was still selling only CDs and books. Over more than three decades, that vision transformed Alps Controls into a pioneering force in e-commerce distribution. Today, Alps Controls operates one of the industry's most robust online marketplaces, offering hundreds of millions of products from more than 180 trusted vendor brands to customers throughout the United States, Canada, Latin America, and beyond.

"This company has been my life's work, and stepping away is bittersweet," said Dave Meyers. "But I couldn't be more proud of what we've built together. With our employees, our customers, and our vendor partners, I couldn't be more confident in the future. Connor and Addison are ready. This transition has been thoughtfully planned, and the team is well-positioned to keep building on everything we've established."
Connor Meyers and Addison Meyers have deep roots in the business, having grown up alongside the company itself. Both interned at Alps Controls during their college summers before joining full time — Addison in 2012 and Connor in 2022 — and have spent years immersed in nearly every aspect of the operation since. Addison brings deep expertise in operations and a hands-on approach to running the business day-to-day, while Connor has played a central role in shaping the company's commercial strategy and customer and vendor relationships. Together, they represent the next generation of leadership and bring a lifelong familiarity with the business to their new roles.
“We’re honored to carry this forward. Dad built something exceptional — a culture, a reputation, and a platform that is unlike anything else in the industry. Addison and I are committed to continuing that legacy while driving the innovation and growth that will define Alps Controls in the years ahead.”
The leadership transition has been planned over an extended period to ensure continuity for employees, customers, and vendor partners. The company's core values — exceptional service, deep vendor relationships, competitive pricing, and a relentless focus on making the buying process easier — remain unchanged.
